In 1974, the city of Dinant (Belgium) gave to the village a commemorative plaque in honour of Édouard Gérard, first belgian soldier to fall on Normandy soil on the 16th of August, 1944 during the liberation of the village.
This plaque was unveiled by his brother in 1974.
