This little train, Le Décauville, named after its inventor, was a railway with narrow-gauge train. In 1893, the line connecting Dives-Sur-Mer to Luc-sur-Mer, via Bénouville was inaugurated. It crossed the village not without risk for the Sallenellais.
The line was closed in 1935 and replaced by a bus service named « Les courriers Normands ».
